Wildlife Tours - Otago Peninsula           the most popular

You can be taken down the low road round the edge of the Harbour to visit Penguin Place.  Yellow Eyed Penguins - 'Hoiho' - are living on a private conservation area where they come ashore to breed and raise their chicks. There is always something happening and you will be taken to watch from secret hides so as not to disturb nature at work.

The Royal Albatross has its only mainland breeding area in the world at Taiaroa Heads and a visit to see these magnificent birds is something to remember. With a wingspan of 3 metres they are a wonder to watch. From the observatory you can see their nests and watch the marvel of the huge fluffy chicks as they grow into handsome young adults.

You will also see a major breeding ground for Cormorants, commonly known in these parts as 'Shags'.

On the way you should see several seals and at times you might be lucky enough to see them with their pups.

We can return over the High Road for an awesome view of the Pacific Ocean side of the Peninsular.

Other places of interest on the Peninsula include

Clifton Woollen Things -wool spinning and weaving with pet sheep you can touch.

Happy Hens Pottery - world renowned and made just right here.

Marine Science Unit of Otago University - touch tanks and much more.

Broad Bay China- old china, whole dinner sets and heaps more for sale - a fascinating glimpse into our past.

Various Art and Craft Galleries of prominent local artists are open and will ship to anywhere in the world for your convenience.
